2 critical after shooting at south suburban Dolton home

DOLTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Two people are in critical condition after being shot Thursday morning in south suburban Dolton.

At around 3:50 a.m., officers were called to respond to a shooting on the porch of a home in the 14000-block of Dobson Avenue, according to state police.

A male victim and a female victim were wounded and taken to the University of Chicago hospital.

The home has been the site of problems in the neighborhood, according to two Dolton officials.

"I door-knock. And when I door-knock, basically that is a squatter-house. That is not a resident that lives here. That's someone that took over someone's house without their permission and they stayed there. They do a lot of things that they should not be doing and it should have been taken care of sooner," said Tiffany Henyard, a Dolton village trustee.

A search for the gunman is ongoing and police are asking anyone with any information to come forward.
