MAYVILLE, Wis. -- An elderly Wisconsin driver is responsible for crashing into nine vehicles in a grocery store parking lot, according to ABC affiliate WISN-TV.
Surveillance video caught the man backing into and ramming cars parked all around him at the Piggly Wiggly supermarket in the town of Mayville. The 92-year-old man also drove his minivan into an occupied truck as he was leaving.
"My first thought was, 'You only see these situations when someone is trying to elude police or in incidents of road rage,'" Mayville Police Chief Christopher MacNeill said.
The man told police that he was confused and then panicked.
"His foot got stuck on the accelerator, and from that point, he panicked and lost control of his vehicle," said MacNeill.
Police told WISN-TV that the driver will not face any charges, but they will review his driving record.
Although nearly a dozen cars were hit, there were no injuries reported.
