CHICAGO (WLS) -- Parents and other Bronzeville residents are ending the hunger strike they began 34 days ago to protest the closing of Dyett High School.
Earlier this month Chicago Public School officials announced plans to re-open Dyett as an arts-focused school.
The protesters continued their strike because they want it to become a global leadership and green technology school. They say the strike has taken a toll on their health so they are calling it off.
