NEW CASTLE, Del. -- A New Castle woman has been charged falsely reporting an incident 911 that led to an Ebola screening.

Police say 25-year-old Chastity Lynch called 911 four separate times Tuesday.

Authorities say during an interaction with emergency medical personnel, Lynch's actions resulted in a screening for Ebola.

"These actions caused emergency personnel and other resources to begin mobilization until health care professionals ruled out any possible threat to the public or emergency responders," police said in a statement.

Police say Lynch requested pain medication and then left the hospital without notice to hospital staff.

Lynch's final visit to the hospital resulted in her arrest for attempting to obtain a controlled substance or prescription medication by deception and falsely reporting an incident to an emergency services organization.

Lynch was arraigned and committed to the Baylor Women's Correctional Institution after failing to post $2,500 secured bail.

Lynch was also issued a no adverse contact order with the Emergency Services Communication Division.
