Man, 23, charged in Elgin 7-Eleven robbery

ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- A 23-year-old man was charged in the robbery of a 7-Eleven in west suburban Elgin.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 800-block of East Chicago Street around 4 a.m. on May 31.

The clerk told police that a man walked in with his face partially covered and put the clerk in a headlock. He ran away after stealing from the store.

Hilmon R. Carr, of the 800 block of Bode Road in Elgin, was arrested in connection with the robbery.

He was charged with robbery and his bond was set at $75,000.
