CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Englewood flyover bridge, which is expected to clear the worst choke point in the country's freight rail network, was dedicated Thursday morning.
Located in the city's South Side, the bridge carries Metra trains over another set of tracks used by Amtrak and Norfolk Southern freight trains. Around 140 freight and passenger trains pass through that intersection each day, and for years, they've encountered big delays.
Sen. Dick Durbin said the project, which was paid for mostly with federal funding, also created jobs.
