Inaugural Christmas tree lighting ceremony held at Navy Pier

CHICAGO (WLS) -- People across the world are getting their Christmas trees ready and that includes Navy Pier.

Santa Claus was on hand for the inaugural tree lighting ceremony Wednesday night.

There was a performance from the cast of the Goodman Theater's "A Christmas Carol."

Navy Pier's annual "Winter Wonderfest" opens Friday.
