CHICAGO (WLS) -- The first-ever espnW: Women + Sports Chicago event will be held Wednesday in the city's West Loop neighborhood.
The event, organized by the sports network ESPN, is inspired by the espnW: Women + Sports Summit which will be held in October in California.
The event seeks to bring together female leaders in the sports world, including marketing executives, professional athletes and other influencers.
The event is hosted by ESPN columnist Sarah Spain, and will feature speakers including Elena Delle Donne, of the Chicago Sky; Morgan Flatley, of Gatorade; Julie Johnston, of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team; Cari Champion, a SportsCenter anchor' and Kelly Amonte Hiller, head coach of Northwestern University's women's lacross team.
The day starts with an option 5K lake run.
