FedEx to add 700 seasonal workers in Chicago area

BEDFORD PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- FedEx expects to add more than 55,000 seasonal positions throughout its company before the holidays.

FedEx says 700 of those positions will be added at the southwest suburban Bedford Park facility.

FedEx says the positions include package handlers, operations management and other support positions.

FedEx says "many of these seasonal workers will have the opportunity to continue working with us after the holidays." FedEx says last year one-third of the new additions kept their positions beyond the seasonal stint.

FedEx says it has already begun hiring the seasonal workforce.
