CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago's fire commissioner gave credit to education efforts in lowering the number of fire deaths in Chicago.
At a paramedic graduation ceremony on Thursday, he thanked ABC 7 for its partnership with the department in the Operation Save- A- Life program.
"Them helping us getting the word have saved so many lives," Chicago Fire Commissioner Jose Santiago said.
Commissioner Santiago swore in dozens of new paramedics.
Eyewitness News Anchor Judy Hsu was the emcee of the event.
