LIVERMORE, Calif. -- It's a hot day in Livermore, California. Children and their families are lined up in cars waiting to enjoy their free Mister Softee ice cream cone. A nearby lawn adorns a sign that reads: "In Memory. Dylan Johnson."

Veronica Johnson, Dylan's mother, stands on the corner, watching all the smiling faces.

She organized the free ice cream drive-thru as a way to give back to her community and most importantly, honor her son.

"Dylan only lived 25 months, three days. He was just a happy boy. He loved to smile and make people laugh. He loved ice cream," Johnson shares, "It's the 20th anniversary of his passing, so why not do something big."
