These people really love to play with their food, and the result is a neighborhood's worth of gorgeous gingerbread houses.
Creative minds from all over the country have come together to mold and shape their food into eye-popping pieces that resemble both houses and symbols of the holiday season for the National Gingerbread House Competition in Asheville, N.C.
This is the 23rd year of the confectionery competition. More than 160 creations were considered for awards, which were given out in four age categories, and for the grand prize of $7,500. To be eligible, a structure has to be at least 75 percent gingerbread, the Inn said in a statement.
The gingerbread creations will be on display at the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville through Jan. 3, 2016.
