CHICAGO (WLS) -- Bookstores across Chicago opened their doors in the middle of the night so people could get the latest installment in the massively popular "Harry Potter" series.
Fans lined up outside a Barnes & Noble in the Gold Coast to purchase "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" early Sunday.
The last Harry Potter book was published nine years ago. The eighth book is not anything like the others. For one, it's a play script and not a novel. Also it wasn't just written by J.K. Rowling, playwrights also contributed.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is already a play in previews in London's West End.
The new Harry Potter book takes place 19 years after the last one. It follows Harry Potter who is now an employee of the ministry of magic and his son.
