CHICAGO -- Two new laws are going on the books to combat smoking.

Governor Pat Quinn signed a new law Sunday prohibiting smokers from lighting up on all state-funded college and university campuses. That law goes into effect in July 2015.

Governor Quinn also signed a new law regulating the way business can sell electronic cigarettes. The law states that all e-cigarettes must be sold from behind a counter, in a sealed case or in an age-restricted area.

It will also be illegal to sell e-cigarettes from a self-service display. That law goes into effect on New Year's Day.
