Naproxen may increase risk for heart attack, stroke

There's a new warning about the painkiller naproxen and a potentially deadly side effect.



Researchers studied 160,000 post-menopausal women older than 50 who took naproxen at least twice per week, and found a 22 percent increased risk for heart attack or stroke.



IOther painkillers, such as ibuprofen, did not increase cardiovascular risk.



The study is published in the journal Circulation.
