Humboldt Park woman charged in Target bathroom explosion

EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Heidi Schmidt, 44, of Humboldt Park is charged with aggravated arson and unlawful possession of explosive or incendiary device, both felonies, following an explosion in a Target bathroom in Evanston.

Evanston police say Schmidt left a plastic bottle inside the women's bathroom of the store Wednesday, shortly before the blast. No one was injured and the store stayed open as police and the bomb squad investigation.

The motive behind the explosion is still not clear.
