HOUSTON -- Houston radio listeners are shocked at what they saw starring back at them when they tuned in to a local hip hop station. Hackers blared a racial slur right on the dial. And now 97.9 The Box is reacting to this hateful intrusion.

When drivers set the dial to 97.9 The Box, they saw the N word pop up Sunday night. The radio station tweeted that its system had been hacked and they're working to find the source.

"It's tragic that there are those that will spew hate and evil by any means necessary. Thank u for bringing this to our immediate attention," the station said.
