REMINGTON, Ind. (WLS) -- One lane of southbound I-65 has been reopened at the Jasper/White County Line on I-65 after being shut down for several hours Tuesday morning, the Indiana State Police said.

Police said part of the problem was that one of the semis involved in the crashes lost its load of cement siding boards. The cold temperatures caused the boards to become breakable and brittle when handled, delaying cleanup efforts.

Traffic was backed up Tuesday afternoon near Remington, about 30 miles northwest of Lafayette.
