1 killed, 2 injured in I-80 crash near Joliet

JOLIET, Ill. (WLS) -- One person was killed and two were injured in a car crash on I-80 at Briggs near Joliet, according to Illinois State Police.

Police say around 4 p.m. Monday a vehicle going westbound on I-80 near Richards crossed over to the eastbound lanes and crashed into two other vehicles.

Police have not released the conditions of the two injured victims. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The eastbound lanes of I-80 were blocked for several hours during the Monday evening rush hour. All lanes have since reopened.
