SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- A new class of Illinois state troopers will begin patrolling state roads on Monday.
A graduation ceremony for 37 new troopers was held in Springfield on Friday. Gov. Pat Quinn was joined by Illinois State Police Director Hiram Grau for the ceremony.
Fourteen of the new troopers are military veterans. Nine were hired under a new law that allows some Iraqi and Afghan vets to apply without a college degree.
