SAN FRANCISCO -- British researchers have created a device that could one day allow you to bring a bottle of water or any type of liquid larger than 3.4 ounces into the airport and on-board your flight.

The Insight-100 Liquids Bottle scanner is now being tested at 65 airports in Europe.

Security puts your liquid inside. In just five seconds, the device processes the contents, checking for any threats, such as propellants or bomb-making materials.

As of now the Insight-100 is not being tested in the U.S.

Liquids, such as shampoo or perfume, larger than 3.4 ounces have been banned since 2006.
