Someone should tell this jelly that fish are friends, not food.
An underwater photographer who was free-diving off of Byron Bay, Australia managed to capture a truly wild scene: A fish had become trapped inside a jellyfish.
Tim Samuel said he was looking to photograph sea turtles when he stumbled upon this strange sight. The fish was controlling where the jellyfish was swimming, he said.
Samuel posted the photo back in December, but it gained attention online after being reposted by DiscoverOcean, an Instagram account dedicated to showcasing ocean photography. That post now has 20,000 likes.
In reaction to all the attention, Samuel said when he and fellow filmmaker Franny Plumridge found the weird scene, they didn't realize just how much it would resonate online.
"We knew we had found something special, but had no idea just how unique and rare this sighting was," he wrote on Instagram. "I'm completely blown away by all the attention it is getting from all over the world."
