Documents falsified in Kankakee Jail escape, sheriff says

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Details have emerged from the night an inmate attacked a guard and escaped from the Kankakee County Jail.

According to Sheriff Tim Bukowski, the staff falsified documents and did not actually conduct an inmate count. He says those involved will be disciplined.

Kamron Taylor escaped April 1 when investigators say he attacked the guard, took his uniform and got officers to buzz him through security so he could get out of the building.

Taylor was captured three days later.
