CHICAGO (WLS) -- Karen Lewis took the next step toward a possible run for mayor by filing paperwork with the state to form a campaign committee.
She announced that during an event Tuesday night called a "Conversation with Karen." It's the first in a series of planned public meetings.
Lewis was asked what would keep her from challenging Mayor Emanuel. She said she would have to know she wouldn't "do any harm."
"It is my goal not to just quote unquote run for mayor. I think that's only part of the process. The part of process is to change the political landscape," said Lewis.
The teachers union says these "Conversations with Karen" will continue throughout the next few weeks.
