Stateville Prison inmate treated for Legionnaires' disease

CREST HILL, Ill. (WLS) -- An inmate at Stateville prison in Crest Hill is being treated for Legionnaires' disease, a severe form of pneumonia.

The inmate is now at a hospital outside of the prison. No other inmates are experiencing symptoms of the illness so far, officials said.

The prison is now working to identify the source and have begun sanitizing certain areas of the correctional center.
