18-year-old killed in West Side shooting, Chicago police say

An 18-year-old was killed in a shooting on the city's West Side, Chicago police said. A 17-year-old was placed into custody.

The shooting happened Saturday at about 10:15 p.m. in the 4800-block of W. Quincy Street, police said.

Police responded to a call of a person shot. They then found an 18-year-old was shot in the armpit/

He was taken to Mt. Sinai hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

The victim was identified as Aniyhas S. Jackson by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Witnesses told police the suspect was still on the scene.

A short time later, a 17-year-old boy was taken into custody.

Shooting victim walks into hospital, police say

A man who had been shot in the Back of the Yards neighborhood walked into a hospital on Saturday, Chicago police said.

CPD said the shooting happened in the 5400 block of S. Peoria Street just after midnight, police said.

The 40-year-old victim had been shot in the torse; he was listed in critical condition.

No other information was available.

15-year-old boy shot near McDonald's on South Side

A 15-year-old boy is recovering after being shot outside a McDonald's restaurant, Chicago police said.

A 15-year-old boy was shot Saturday near a McDonald's in Bronzeville on the South Side, Chicago police said.

It happened just after 7 p.m. Saturday near 47th and Cottage Grove in Bronzeville.

Police say the boy was arguing with another male, who pulled out a gun and opened fire.

The boy was in fair condition. No one was in custody.

Additional man injured in Princeton Park shooting, bringing total to 13 victims

A pair of drive-by shooters injured at least 13 people on the city's South Side on Friday evening, Chicago police said.

Police initial said 12 people had been injured by drive-by shooters near West 95th Street and South Princeton Avenue in the city's Princeton Park neighborhood.

Police later said another 26-year-old man suffered unknown injuries. He refused medical treatment.
