Loaded gun found in man's carry-on bag at Midway Airport, officials say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was arrested at Midway Airport after Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers say he tried to carry a loaded handgun past a security checkpoint.

The .40 caliber Glock 22 handgun was detected in the man's carry-on bag Wednesday morning, TSA officials said. The man was headed from Chicago to Nashville.

The weapon was confiscated and the man was taken into custody by Chicago police.

TSA officials say this is the 13th firearm detected at Midway this year.
