Lollapalooza 2015 concerts lineup announced
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Paul McCartney, Metallica and Sam Smith will be among 130 acts at this year's Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago.
McCartney will be making his first appearance at Lollapalooza, while Metallica is taking a stage for the first time since 1996.
Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell said Florence + the Machine, Bassnectar, The Weeknd, alt-J, Alabama Shakes, Of Monsters and Men, Tame Impala, A$AP Rocky, Kid Cudi, Brand New, TV On The Radio, twenty-one pilots, G-Eazy, Gary Clark Jr. and Kygo are also in the lineup.
"The heart of Lollapalooza has always been the music. The brotherhood and sisterhood of musicians is getting stronger and the unexpected surprises and collaborations are cementing magical moments that will live on in music history. Having young talented artists performing alongside legends is all I could ever ask for and I'll be grinning from ear to ear the entire weekend," Farrell said.
A few "fresh faces" will also perform at Lollapalooza, including MisterWives, Ryn Weaver, Catfish and the Bottlemen, BRNS, Travi$ Scott and ODESZA.
Kaskade, Alesso, NERO, Dillon Francis, Carnage, Nicky Romero, DJ Snake, Chet Faker, Logic and The Chainsmokers will play on Farrell's namesake stage at the festival.
Local acts include Twin Peaks, Jack Novak and Mick Jenkins, as well as international artists, including Django Django, James Bay and George Ezra from the U.K., BROODS from New Zealand and Australia's Alison Wonderland.

The festival, taking place July 31 to Aug. 2, marks its 11-year anniversary in Chicago's Grant Park.
Festival officials said three-day general admission tickets sold out within an hour. VIP, Platinum Passes and Travel Packages are still available.
A limited number of single-day general admission tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Wednesday.

If fans can't make it to Grant Park, they will be able to stream the festival live on Android, iOS, Samsung Smart TV's, Xbox and other supported devices.
