DALLAS (WLS) -- A Texas farmer and his son have uncovered a rare, ancient find.
Wayne and Marty McEwen was excavating a gravel pit on their property south of Dallas when they saw what looked like a tusk.
In fact, it was the fossilized remains of a nearly complete mammoth skeleton. The specimen is thought to be tens of thousands of years old.
Paleontologists with the Perot Museum in Dallas are unearthing the fossil and moving it to a lab for further study.
