Chicago woman celebrates 104th birthday

CHICAGO (WLS) -- She had a brush with death when she was just 11 years old, but on Friday, a Northwest Side woman celebrated her 104th birthday.

A huge crowd turned out for Marion Bruska's big party at Victory Centre of Galewood, an assisted living facility.

Bruska survived a battle with scarlet fever when she was a young girl.

Since then, she's lived a full life - including a backpacking tour of Europe when she was 74.
