CHICAGO (WLS) -- With the mayoral election less than two weeks away, candidates were out in Chicago Saturday greeting voters and garnering support.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Alderman Bob Fioretti attended the Equality Illinois Gala Saturday evening. The gala is the largest LGBT formal event in the Midwest and was held at the Hilton Chicago.
All proceeds from the event support the gay, lesbian and transgender community and efforts for equality.
Earlier Saturday, Emanuel joined hundreds of seniors at the Senior Sweetheart Lunch at Columbus Park in the city's Austin neighborhood.
The mayor wished the seniors a happy Valentine's Day and asked for their support in the upcoming election.
Chicago mayoral candidate Willie Wilson made a stop Saturday to greet voters at the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place.
The Chicago mayoral election is Tuesday, February 24.
