McCormick Place could see extra security in wake of terror attacks

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Extra security could be on the way for McCormick Place in the wake of recent terror attacks, including the shooting rampage in Orlando.

A city council committee has signed off on an agreement that would let officers moonlight as extra security at events like conventions.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports the plan was in the works before the Orlando shootings.

McCormick Place would pay the officers directly.
