Police release sketches of head found in McKinley Park lagoon

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are asking for help identifying the victim whose head was found in the lagoon in McKinley Park based on newly-released sketches.

Police described the victim as an African American of unknown gender and possibly between 15 and 25 years old.

Police originally said the head was male but are no longer certain.

A contractor discovered the head and other body parts floating in the lagoon on Sept. 23 around 10 a.m. The lagoon was drained Monday so investigators could search for more evidence.
