CHICAGO (WLS) -- The city of Chicago is doubling its goal for the mayor's mentoring challenge for at-risk youth.
The city has teamed up with the Illinois Mentoring Partnership, in calling for 2,000 additional Chicagoans to volunteer their time, values and skills to be positive role models. So far almost 800 people have signed up.
This is one step in Mayor Rahm Emanuel's plan to help reduce violence in the city.
