Jemetric Nicholson gets life sentence for Metra cop's murder

MARKHAM, Ill. (WLS) -- Jemetric Nicholson, the man convicted of killing a Metra police officer in 2006, was sentenced to life in prison with no chance of parole.

A judge handed down the sentence on Thursday afternoon. Nicholson was convicted of gunning down Officer Thomas Cook at the Harvey train station in 2006.

Following the sentencing, Cook's widow said her family finally has justice.
