DeKalb, Ill. (WLS) -- A lab-confirmed case of the mumps led officials at Northern Illinois University to warn students, faculty and staff to make sure they're current on their vaccinations.

The symptoms include fever, headache and fatigue. There is no specific treatment for mumps but most people recover in a few weeks.

The university is urging people make sure their vaccinations are current.

In Illinois, people with mumps must stay home at least five days after the onset of symptoms.
