New fire commissioner announced

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago has a new fire commissioner, according to the mayor's office.

Richard C. Ford II is replacing retired commissioner Jose Santiago, who retired earlier this month upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 63.

Ford has been with the Chicago Fire Department for 35 years, serving for more than two years as the second in command.
