New Metra seat design proposed

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Metra proposed a new seat design to its Citizens Advisory Board Friday that would move away from the agency's bench-style seating, Metra officials said.

The new style would be similar to airline seating and would be fixed, not having the capability to flip like current Metra bench seats, officials said. Seats would also have cup holders and additional back and neck support.

If used, the new seating may be installed in new cars or in older cars as they are rehabbed, officials said.
