CHICAGO (WLS) -- The state Amber Alert Task Force announced Wednesday that it's adding new technology to put out information more efficiently.
The system "law enforcement alerting portal" is provided free by the company, Alert GPS, and helps spread the word when child goes missing or is abducted.
"It's all about reducing response time when a critical situation occurs and minutes or seconds matter," said Alan Baratz, CEO of Alert GPS.
The technology is used by other Amber Alert systems and can easily be shared across state lines.
