Car veers into Hoffman Estates creek after accident

Hoffman Estates officials say a minor accident led to a car veering into an inlet of Poplar Creek at Rt. 59 and Golf Rd.

A woman and her young child were in the car but managed to get out on their own. By the time emergency crews arrived at the scene, they were on solid ground.

Mother and child were taken to a local hospital to be checked out as a precaution.
