Fire spreads to 2 buildings in South Austin neighborhood

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A building fire broke out and spread to a second building Sunday afternoon in the South Austin neighborhood, sending a 47-year-old woman to the hospital due to smoke inhalation, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

The fire started at about 3 p.m. in the 100-block of North Menard Avenue.

One of the buildings was more than 100 years old. Both buildings are two-and-a-half story frames.
