Hoax has callers claiming to be from IRS demanding money

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A warning has been issued about a hoax where callers claim to be with the Internal Revenue Service and demand money.

A message was left on the voicemail of a Kankakee County resident.

Authorities are reminding people that government agencies would never randomly call and demand money, nor would they make threats with consequences for failure to pay.
