Man dies after being pulled from Lake Michigan

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police say a 27-year-old man has died after jumping in Diversey Harbor Tuesday afternoon.



Alexander Fortis was pulled from the water in the 2600 block of North Lake Shore Drive about 3:25 p.m., according to Chicago Police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.



Police said he was with a group of friends at the time.



Fortis was taken to Presence Saint Joseph Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and police.



An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.
