Man shot in front of elementary school on West Side

An entrance to Nash Elementary School is blocked by crime tape after a man was shot while standing on the sidewalk Tuesday morning.

The shooting happened just after 3:30 a.m. near Huron and Lamon.

Police say the 35-year-old victim was standing on the sidewalk when two men walked up and one of them shot him.

He is in critical condition.

Police say that entrance to the school is part of the crime scene, but the school is open.
