Outbound Union Pacific West Metra train No. 57 headed toward Elburn was stopped outside the Chicago station due to mechanical issues, causing some delays.

The train stopped at about 5:45 p.m. and, loaded with passengers, was standing near Kinzie Street at about 7 p.m., not far from the station.

Crews tied a second train to No. 57 to push it to Elburn, making all stops, Metra officials said. The next inbound train was delayed a little under two hours.
