Armed robber steals victims' pants in Austin, police say

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are warning residents of two armed robberies in Chicago's Austin neighborhood where the suspect stole the victims' jackets and pants before taking off.

The first victim was robbed in the 800-block of North Lawler Avenue around 4 p.m. on March 3. The second victim was robbed in the 4800-block of West Ohio Street around 7:25 p.m. on March 6.

Police said a man pointed a gun at the victims and demanded their property. The suspect then allegedly took their jackets and pants and forced them to lie on the ground before running away.

The suspect is described as an African American man in his late teens or early 20s, between 5 ft. 8 in. and 5 ft. 10 in. tall and between 170-190 lbs. He was carrying a revolver.
