PALATINE, Ill. (WLS) -- Investigators suspect a man who robbed a gas station at gunpoint in an unincorporated area near Palatine is also responsible for three other incidents in the northwest suburbs.

The Cook County Sheriff's office released a surveillance image on Tuesday of a man who stole cash and menthol cigarettes from the gas station in the 1400-block of North Quentin Road around 2 a.m. Monday.

Authorities think he is the same man who tried to rob a gas station in Schaumburg on the same day and committed armed robberies in Park Ridge and Prospect Heights.

Police said the suspect is described as an African American man with a medium build, between 5ft. 8 in. and 5 ft. 10 in. tall. He was wearing a red jacket, red cap, gray scarf, gloves and dark pants.

Anyone with information regarding these incidents should contact the Cook County Sheriff's office at (708) 865-4896.
