Navy Pier improvements could include elevated walkway, hotel, fountain

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Navy Pier could be in for some major upgrades, including what's being called a "lake overlook" elevated walkway.

That bridge would rise off the pier's eastern end, allowing people to walk out over the water. A hotel, a park and fountain are also in the plans.

The proposals would still need city approval before any work can begin.
