Newsviews: Spring housing market

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The spring housing market is well underway and if early trends continue it's adding up to be a very good time to sell!

Data from home sales across Illinois in March aren't due for another week, but figures from February are very positive, which, according to the Illinois Association of Realtors, indicates a strong spring selling season.

Statewide the median selling price was up from last year 7.8 percent to $160,000.

To talk about what's driving the sellers' market and what it means for buyers is Matt Silver, the president-elect of the Chicago Association of Realtors and Nykea Pippion-McGriff with Dream Town Realty, a real estate agent and licensed broker.
