CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 23-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in an alley in Chicago's North Austin neighborhood, police said.
Investigators said she was walking with a "male acquaintance" in the 1700-block of North Monitor Avenue around 4 a.m. Monday when she was attacked.
Police said she tried to call 911, but was cut off. Officers found her in the gangway of an apartment building. She was taken to West Suburban Hospital in Oak Park. There is no word on her condition.
Officers took a 21-year-old man into custody after they found the victim. He has not been charged.
District 25 police are investigating.
